Lean Six Sigma Certification for In-House Lawyers
Official accredited Lean Six Sigma belts and CPD points available.
This will fundamentally change what you do and how you do it.
As far as we know this is the only accredited Lean Six Sigma training course in Australasia adapted specifically for in-house lawyers. With the foundations of Lean Six Sigma based in manufacturing, others struggle to make the training practical and it loses lawyers quickly. At best, they’ll adapt it for professional services but no one knows in-house legals like us!
The best companies use Lean Six Sigma methodology...
The goal is for in-house lawyers to understand processes, problem solving and how they can improve. We use the phased “DMAIC” approach.
Problem definition and process mapping
Collect data about the problem and process
Analyse the process and search for waste and root causes
Develop ideas and solutions, and prioritise them
Ensure the new solution is successful
Official certification levels
Lean Six Sigma professionals each have a different role to play within organisations. Levels of certification are referred to as “Belts”, similar to martial arts. This is a basic guide.
Understands basic concepts and able to support project teams
Project team member and reviews process improvements
Lead small scoped projects and/or assists with data collection and analytics supporting Black Belts
Leads large cross-functional projects and trains and coaches project teams
Trains Black Belts and experts in the technical knowledge
Our course options
As the Lean Six Sigma concept is new to legal, and because in-house legal teams often have limited data for analysis, we recommend starting with either White or Yellow Belt certification. You can apply those theories, and then consider doing higher Green Belt certification.
